The Weekend to End Breast Cancer

Posted by Paul

Well here we are just about 2 weeks away from The Weekend to End Breast Cancer walk. This year’s walk has both a one day 30 km option and the original big bold 2 day 60 km option. Walkers are busy completing their fundraising and any support you can give a walker would be really appreciated. Walkers this year can also designate to other gynaecological cancers (such as ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancers) in addition to breast cancer. Research is showing a link between ovarian cancer and breast so this just made sense to include more women’s cancers. I will be putting on my Pink Gloves, a trademark of our team The Marilyn’s, and joining thousands of women and men walk through the streets of Toronto. We start out at Exhibition place and walk up to Downsview…and yes, I camp over! We then get up on Sunday and walk down by Princess Margaret Hospital and then back into the CNE. Thousands of friends and family and neighbours cheers us along the walk and celebrate our finish. This truly is one of my highlights of the year and I encourage all those who haven’t done this to join me next year.
