This weekend is one of the best of the year….its the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. This is our 7th year. I am so excited and appreciative to be part of this. Over 4,000 participants and hundreds of volunteers will step up and step out for breast and gynecological cancer research, clinical programs and survivorship at The Campbell Family Institute at PMH. Every walker has a story and a special connection. You can’t do this walk and not feel you have done something “extraordinary”. I even love sleeping out in a pup tent on Saturday night. Camp at Downsview is going to be a blast this year (yet again)…..I can’t believe the fun and energy everyone has after walking 60km. The veterans of the walk are inspirational. The new folks bring new energy and new ideas. We will be making a big announcement about next years walk on Sunday afternoon. Don’t miss closing ceremonies at about 4pm on Sunday. If you are not walking, come on out to the Direct Energy Centre at the CNE and cheer walkers, crew and volunteers and crew in. Honk your horn (we’ll be all over the city on the weekend), shout out a hello, thank a walker or volunteer. To every single person who walks, volunteers, helps out, donates, sponsors…..THANK YOU! Walk on sisters and brothers!
