Sometimes a song or a video stays with you and reaches your “heart and soul”. The link below will take you to a 4 minute song from the band “Simple Plan”. The song is about people and their cancer. I work with cancer patients every day and I see the emotional turmoil of cancer patients, young and old. One of our docs wrote a book called “Cancer is a Word not a Sentence”. Dr. Robert Buckman wrote this book to try and separate the “cancer and the person”…..because both the cancer AND the person need to be treated. I see the pain, loss, anger, sorrow….but I also see the hope, strength, courage, resolve, bloody-mindedness, and sense of humour that many many patients display.
