Overwhelming response from viewers

Posted by Paul

The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation ‘In Our Lifetime’ commercials have been on the air for just a month, and feedback has been nothing short of amazing. It was our intent to tell The Princess Margaret story in a way that people would remember, and it seems that, in tandem with our great partners at Y&R, we have accomplished that and more. Through my entire career, I have never seen a commercial get such overwhelming response from viewers. The emails, phonecalls, Facebook and Twitter comments keep coming, arriving every single day and from locations right across the country. We are so thankful to Joseph Nanni and the Y & R team for accomplishing something so significant with a message that is told so simply. They are to be congratulated and thanked.

Here are a few of the comments:

“It speaks volumes without saying a word. Very clever, effective, impressive strategy. It doesn't seem like an ad campaign....it's factual and genuinely touches your heart... I like that it puts faces on the disease that has sadly become a common word today. Speaking as a cancer survivor too, it doesn't just heighten awareness, it gives the viewer hope for a cure."

“I was watching TV one day and saw your commercial about The Princess Margaret Hospital. The commercial was so deep, it made me start crying. Thank you very much for all the work you do.”

“I saw your advert(isement) on television this morning and felt that I just had to let you know that it stopped me in my tracks. The brilliant marketing/advertising team that you commissioned should be applauded for such an excellent video. I am a nurse from Britain, now working in Canada, and applaud you for the excellent research and work that your hospital and staff do on a daily basis.”

“WOW!! Tears of hope and joy are flowing from my eyes now and after just 10 seconds into it! What an amazing video! Congratulations.”

“I think what it does for me is leave me with a true feeling of HOPE for the future of all of us who have coped with the fear and despair of the past hopelessness of the disease. I would be hard pressed to think of anyone I know who hasn't been affected either directly or indirectly... every one of us, regardless of our place in the world, either intellectually, financially or even geographically, is affected by cancer. I feel assured when I see this commercial that this really may be something that my grandchildren will never have to cope with. What a wonderful legacy to leave for future generations."
