Harry’s Spring Runoff a Record Breaker!

Posted by Paul

Last Saturday on a beautiful morning thousands gathered for the annual Harry’s Spring Runoff. Runners and walkers lined up for a challenging 8km and 5km course. It was just a glorious morning. A record $365,000 was raised for prostate cancer research at PMH. Dr. Rob Bristow spoke and thanked the crowd of supporters. Larry Rosen was the superb leader and founder of this event. Larry and the Harry Rosen organization have done so much to help raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. Jack Layton was out and was a hit! Some folks dressed up in crazy outfits (including about a dozen guys dressed as bright yellow bananas!). The Globe & Mail were media sponsors but also had a huge team and a fast team too! We are grateful to the Harry Rosen organization under the enthusiastic leadership of Larry Rosen, the sponsors, the runners, the volunteers, the donors and the spectators. The warm weather was a huge change from previous years! I did the 5km along with Sheila. That last hill just before the finish is a true character builder. Nancy and Cindy and Ryan and many from the PMHF came out and participated. Thanks again to all! For more information click here.
