I attended a two day conference recently and a speaker who was knowledgeable of bio medical research and philanthropy spoke about “Passion Capital”. He said what we are “passionate” about drives our philanthropic and volunteer commitments. Human capital, scientific capital, and financial capital are all a function of “passion capital” in philanthropy. Our heart tends to drive our involvement and support for not-for-profit causes. Our head and our hands need to be involved as well but our heart leads us to support causes we believe in. This idea of “Passion Capital” being a key driver of our desire and commitment to philanthropic causes was a new and key lesson for me.
Where will you “invest” your “Passion Capital”? Organizations and causes which attract “Passion Capital” will most likely also be successful in attracting other forms of capital-human, financial, scientific!!!
