The article below is from the Oct. 27th edition of the Globe & Mail. It is an excellent piece written by Geoff Beattie. Geoff has been a major and steady supporter of the Princess Margaret as well as his many corporate and other duties. This article strikes me as important to the world of cancer research and clinical care as well as to financial investing. The principles Geoff writes so eloquently about are the same for “investing” in conquering cancer. Building excellence takes time, commitment, a steady hand, hard work, focus, and performance. Cancer research in particular takes a long time, the Eureka moments are hard fought for. It takes scientific resources, human capital, financial capital, creativity, long hours, patience and passion. Please take a moment and read the article below……the lessons apply equally well to cancer research and the “building” it takes help conquer cancer.
